God Made Fall Nature Scavenger Hunt
Fall is such a beautiful reminder of the creativity of our Creator.
The leaves begin to change, cooler weather arrives, acorns cover the ground, and we start noticing little signs of the season everywhere we look.
What better way to help our kids slow down and notice those things than with a fall nature scavenger hunt?
I created this FREE God Made Fall Nature Scavenger Hunt as a simple way for families to get outside, explore God's creation, and turn an ordinary fall afternoon into an opportunity for faith-filled conversation.
🍁 God Made Fall
As parents, we're always looking for simple ways to disciple our kids in the middle of everyday life.
Sometimes that looks like reading a Bible story together. Sometimes it's praying at bedtime. And sometimes, discipleship looks like stepping outside and saying: “Look at what God made!”
A nature walk can become a chance to talk about God's creativity, His goodness, and how He cares for everything He has made.
Genesis 1 reminds us that God created the world and called His creation good. Psalm 19:1 tells us: “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
When we intentionally slow down and notice creation with our kids, we're helping them connect what they see around them with the God who made it.
🍂 What's Included in the Free Fall Scavenger Hunt?
This printable gives kids simple things to look for while exploring outside during the fall.
They can search for things like:
🍁 Colorful leaves
🌰 Acorns
☁️ Clouds
🐿️ Animals
🌻 Fall flowers
🪵 Something rough like a stump
💨 Signs of the wind
And more!
As they search, encourage your kids to stop and notice who made each thing they find.
You don't need a complicated lesson or a perfectly planned activity. Just take the printable, head outside, and let curiosity lead the way.
🌿 Make It a Faith-Filled Activity
As your kids find each item, use it as an opportunity to talk about God.
Try asking:
“Who made that?”
“What do you think is amazing about God's creation?”
“What is something God made that you're thankful for?”
“How does seeing God's creation remind you of Him?”
You could even end your scavenger hunt with a simple prayer:
“God, thank You for making such a beautiful world. Help us slow down and notice the things You have made. Thank You for loving us and caring for us. Amen.”
These little conversations may seem simple, but they're exactly the kind of everyday moments that can help our kids grow in their faith.
🧡 A Simple Fall Activity for the Whole Family
The best part about this activity is that you don't need much.
Print the scavenger hunt, grab your shoes, and head outside!
Take it on a family walk, bring it along on a fall hike, use it during homeschool, or keep a copy in your car for an afternoon adventure.
You could even make it a tradition and complete the scavenger hunt together every fall.
Faith doesn't have to be complicated.
Sometimes it's simply helping our kids see God in the ordinary moments all around them.
